Monica Ursina Jäger (*1974, Thalwil) lives and works in Zurich and London.
At the Kunsthaus Grenchen, VIDEO WINDOW presents the video work by Monica Ursina Jäger (after presentations in 2020 at the 22nd edition of Videoex, Experimental Film & Video Festival Zurich and in May 2021 at stattkino Luzern) as an addition to the group show with the title «Im Wald» (In The Forest) referring the thema of forest with works by eleven artists.
Forest Tales and Emerald Fictions deals with this change, combining city and forest views and animated chlorophyll paintings with two interwoven narrative strands: the scientific-looking report of a narrator offstage about the meaning and functioning of the rainforest's ecosystem, which has been growing since time immemorial, and the emotional memories of an older woman about her childhood with the forest as a natural habitat and mysterious animistic parallel world to the city.
The screening is followed by an artist by Monica Ursina Jäger with Bruno Z'Graggen.
