Special VIDEO WINDOW 2022 brings together three new works from two positions: The preview of Superposition by the Swiss video artist Christoph Oertli and Casulo and Palco by the Brazilian-Swiss duo Dias & Riedweg. Due to the pandemic, the premiere of the latter two videos, which were completed in 2019, was only recently celebrated together with VIDEO WINDOW in stattkino Luzern.

At first glance, there appear to be considerable divergences between these videos in not only geographical and thematic but also formal and aesthetic terms. However, despite all such differences, they have many points of contact. A central theme in both positions is the isolation of particular individuals and groups vis-à-vis society. And they raise socio-critical questions in such conflicting areas as individuality and collectivity, interior and exterior, madness and reason, inclusion and exclusion.
